

History
International University School of Medicine (IUSOM) was
founded in 2005 by Dr. Ghulam G. Choudhry, Ph.D., D.Sc.,
as a Founder together with by Dr. Critsobal Berry-Caban,
Ph.D., Dr. Octavio Cervantes-Pava, M.D., Dr. Esther J.
Bernabela, M.D., Mr. Harlton Eleoterio Emerenciana, B.Sc.
(Hons.), B.Sc., Dr. Miguel Angel Gonzâlez-Gonzâlez, Ph.D.,
M.D., and Mr. Hanif Mohammad-Awan, M.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons.)
as Co-Founders and as Members of Board of Trustees, in
Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean (Formerly Netherlands Antilles).
Subsequently, Branch Campuses of IUSOM were founded in
Sialkot (Pakistan), Barranquilla (Colombia), and México City
(México) in 2006, 2007, and 2008, respectively, with local

In August 2012, International University School of Medicine
(IUSOM) appointed Prof. Dr. Dewa Ramlu as DEAN of
Clinical Sciences & Academic Affairs, Detroit USA.
Prof. Dewa Ramlu, Dean of IUSOM Clinical Sciences &
Academic Affairs USA, on the behalf of IUSOM signed in USA
on March 11, 2013, the Clinical Rotations (for IUSOM M.D.
Degree Students) & Clinical Training (for IUSOM Post
Graduate Diploma in Clinical Cardiology (PGDCC) Students)
Agreement between International University School of
Medicine (IUSOM) & Ark Medical Center, Dearborn,Michigan,
USA.
On April 10, 2013, from its a Branch Campus, namely,
International University School of Medicine (IUSOM) –
Michigan Clinical Campus in Michigan, USA, IUSOM launched
Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Cardiology (PGDCC)
Program at Ark Medical Center, Michigan, USA. It should be
mentioned that Ark Medical Center has access to several
Hospitals such as Harper University Hospital, Detroit
Receiving Hospital, Rehab Institute of Michigan, Oakwood
Main Hospital, Oakwood Heritage Hospital, Oakwood
Annapolis Hospital, Henry Ford Hospital, and Sinai Grace
Hospital, all located in Michigan, USA.
IUSOM’s Medical Educational activities include:
- Providing PreMed (Pre-Medical) Undergraduate as
well as M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) Graduate Medical
Education Program to students mainly from South &
North America and from EU including The Netherlands
and UK as well as from other countries;
- Providing PGDCC (Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical
Cardiology) Program to students mainly from South &
North America and from EU including The Netherlands
and UK as well as from other countries;
- Awarding eventually the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)
degrees to students mainly from South & North
America and from EU including The Netherlands and
UK as well as from other countries;
- Awarding eventually Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical
Cardiology (PGDCC) to students mainly from South &
North America and from EU including The Netherlands
and UK as well as from other countries;
- Conducting medical laboratory research, focusing
Molecular Cell Biology, especially Proteomics and
Genomics type research work including Human
Genetics Engineering in order to develop new
techniques for investigating and curing patients
suffering Cancer and other related diseases; and
- Providing Health Care Services to common masses,
from IUSOM Academic Hospital equipped with the
state-of-the-art ultramodern equipments and facilities.
International University School of Medicine (IUSOM) from its
all Worldwide Campuses is Providing Medical Education and
Training to All without International Borders regardless of
race, national origin, religion, sex, or age, whoever desires to
devote the extensive time and effort necessary to practice
medicine. IUSOM provides a comprehensive Basic Science
and Clinical Medicine Education enabling students to
complete a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. IUSOM also
provides Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Cardiology
(PGDCC) Program Education from its a Branch Campus,
namely, IUSOM – Michigan Clinical Campus in Michigan, USA.
PreMed Program Curriculum & M.D. Degree Curriculum
at International University School of Medicine (IUSOM) Main
Campus in Bonaire and at its all Worldwide Branch
Campuses as well PGDCC Program Curriculum being
offered at IUSOM - Michigan Clinical Campus located in
Michigan, USA incorporate standards of academic and
clinical instruction, which parallel those USA, Canadian, and
EU medical educational institutions.
All worldwide campuses of International University School of
Medicine (IUSOM) were founded as not-for-profit foundations
in order to teach all classes in English by experienced
medical educators from the USA, Canada, The Netherlands,
and other countries.
After dissolution of Formerly Netherlands Antilles on October
10, 2010, three islands, namely, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and
Saba (BES) Islands were collectively integrated more closely
to the Kingdom of The Netherlands in European Union (EU).
Consequently, the Government of The Netherlands in Den
Haag, The Netherlands now permits the M.D. and/or
PreMed Foreign Students (on Student Visa) enrolled and
attending the International University School of Medicine
(IUSOM), to apply for the Work Permit to work in Bonaire
Island, to partially finance their costs for international medical
education at IUSOM.
